Victor "Vic" Allen Lewis

Victor “Vic” Allen Lewis, 72, of Liberty died Tuesday, July 27, 2010 at home after an extended illness. He was born August 5, 1937 in Rochester, New York to parents: Victor Omen and Fannie Crow Lewis. He had live in Liberty for the past 5 years, previously of Florida and New York where he worked as a boat captain in his own fishing and charter business. Vic was a member of the American Legion Post 393 in Cleveland, the Loyal Order of Eagle and the Moose Lodge. He enjoyed gardening, Nascar, fishing, hunting and carpentry and he was always willing to teach others. He also served in the Coast Guard.
Memorial Service for Mr. Lewis will be 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 1, 2010 at the American Legion Post 393 in Cleveland, Texas. Honorary pallbearers are Edward Nolder, Rick Lewis, Sr., Rick Lewis, Jr., Francisco Rocha, Tim Land, Sr., and Tim Land, Jr.
Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, son: Timothy Lewis, brothers: William “Bill” Lewis, and Fred Lewis. He is survived by his wife of 33 years: Linda Angelo Lewis of Liberty; daughters: Karen Dwello and husband Donald of New York, Kathy Maylin husband Wayne of New York, Lori Higbee husband Scott of South Carolina, Hope Torok and husband Eric of New Jersey, and Holliene “Holly” Nolder and husband Edward of Cleveland; his sons: Marlin “Scott” Lewis of New York, Richard "Rick" Lewis, Sr. and Theresa of New York; sister: Lorraine Powell of New York; 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
