VIKKI LOUISE LYTLE PATE

Vikki Louise Lytle Pate passed away on May 19, 2025, in Kingwood, Texas, at the age of 70 years old. She was along time residence of Sheperd, Texas.

Vikki was born in Long Beach, California, on January 8, 1955, to Robert “Bob” Lytle and Norma Nan Payne who have predeceased her.

Vikki leaves behind her husband of 22 years, Terry Pate of Sheperd, Texas. Her son, Brent Willis Allen and his wife, Denise Allen of Coldspring, Texas. Her grandson, Trevor Willis Allen, of Tarkington. Her brother, Butch Lytle of Colorado. Stepdaughter, Hope Pate and husband Randy of Tarkington. Stepson, Coty Pate and wife Darlene of Tarkington. Adopted, sister, Terry D. Bacon and husband, Bacon of Liberty and a whole slew of grandchildren, nieces (Dalana and Samantha, just to name a few) and nephews (Patrick, Chad and Lee Owen, just a name a few). And her beloved dogs, Zoe aka Uggie Fuggie, Minnie, Skitter, Pepper, and Peanut.

Vikki was a retired paramedic, which was a profession she loved. Vikki loved helping and saving people. She thrived being a paramedic. Her goal was to be on Lifeflight as a paramedic, but that was cut short due to an injury that ended her career. She had a lifelong love for horses, dogs, and every other animal. Vikki worked as a veterinarian technician back in the late 70’s due to her love of animals. She would bring home some very interesting animals. One time, Vikki brought home a white skunk. Vikki and Terry loved to hunt and fish, going out in the boat on the lake, sitting outside by the campfire with family and friends, and hosting campfire get togethers. Vikki’s love for horses led her to years of trail ride, especially her favorite was her yearly Houston Livestock and Rodeo kickoff trail ride. She was so sad when her body just couldn’t do the trail rides anymore. She formed a lifelong friendship with her trail ride family. Vikki was part of the horseback team which participated in the Galveston Mardi Grau every year as safety patrol, back in the day. Vikki loved to travel especially (when she was still able) driving to California to spend months with her dad. She was blessed with spending lots of time with her dad during the last 20 years or so of his life. Her trips to California to be with her dad were so special to her. The only other thing Vikki loved more was spending time with her hubby, Terry, and family.

Vikki was a go getter. She did not like to sit still; she was a doer. Vikki was a daredevil. She never met a stranger. The way she cared for people and wanted to help everyone is what made Vikki so special. Vikki was truly one of a kind. She will be missed by everyone she touched in life. May Vikki rest in peace and be free from pain.

Vikki’s life will be celebrated at a memorial service held at her and Terry’s home, at a later day. Her wishes were to be cremated and her ashes to be spread in the mountains.
