Virginia Harrison New, beloved mother, sister, memaw, and friend, passed away on May 8, 2025. Born on January 10, 1950, in Houston, Texas, to Robert and Freida Harrison, Virginia brought warmth, kindness, and joy to all who knew her.Virginia was known for her deep love of family. She cherished spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, always capturing special moments through her love of photography. A passionate collector of antiques, she found joy in collecting the treasures she discovered and displayed them proudly.She is survived by her loving son Mark Delano and his wife Windy; her devoted sisters Kathryne Mathis, Peggy Lowery, Pamela Seeley, and Sheri Cochran; and her adored grandchildren Shelby, Harrison, Audrey, Bradley, Matt, Nick, Christopher, and Crystal. Virginia was a proud memaw to nine great-grandchildren and leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of friends who will miss her dearly.
Virginia is preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband Daniel New; and her loving son Charles Delano. A visitation will be held for Virginia on Monday, May 12, 2025, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, Dayton. The funeral service will follow Tuesday, May 13, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Pace Stancil Funeral Home, followed by the burial at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton. Her legacy of love, laughter, and family devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
