Obituary

Walter Lee Holman Jr., 77, passed away on October 5, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1949, to Walter Lee Holman Sr. and Barbara Hancock.

Walter proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a resident of Livingston, Texas, for the past 10 years and was formerly a longtime resident of Lake Charles, Louisiana.

Walter was a true sports fanatic and especially loved anything involving the New Orleans Saints or LSU. When he wasn’t cheering on his favorite teams, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and, most certainly, a good meal. Walter loved to eat and especially enjoyed the time spent around the table with those he loved.

Family was an important part of Walter’s life. He looked forward to family gatherings and always wanted to be a part of whatever his family was doing. One of his greatest joys was watching his sons rope, and he treasured the opportunity to be there, support them, and share in the moments that meant so much to his family.

Walter was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Lee Holman Sr. and Barbara Hancock; his wife, Danna Porter Holman; his brothers, David “Bubba” Holman and Billy Holman; and his granddaughter, Bailey Holman.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sons, Justin Holman and wife Catherine, Jordan Holman, Norman Savant and wife Brandi, Tooter Dillard and wife Buffy, and Kevin Dillard; his grandchildren, Mason, Catherine Lee, Wyatt, Alyssa, Christopher, Cade and wife Kaycie, and Brylie; his great-grandchildren, Branson and Carsyn; as well as numerous other family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

A graveside service for Walter will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 8, 2026, at Magnolia Park Cemetery in Dayton, Texas, with Bro. Danny Biddy officiating.

Serving as pallbearers will be Cade Dillard, Branson Dillard, Jordan Holman, Norman Savant, Kevin Dillard, and Mason Holman. Honorary pallbearers will be Justin Holman, Tooter Dillard, and Wyatt Holman.

Walter will be remembered for his love of family, his enthusiasm for his favorite teams, and the joy he found simply being together with the people he loved.
