Sherman

Gerald C. Sherman, Jr., 72, of Wallisville, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at the Crespo-Jirrels Funeral Chapel in Baytown. Visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home prior to services. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral in Dayton.

Gerald was born March 16, 1935 in Evergreen, to parents; Gerald C., Sr. and Jewel E. Wilkerson Sherman, a former resident of Baytown, and has resided in the Wallisville area for the past 46 years. He was a graduate of the Robert E. Lee High School class of 1954, attended Lee College, was a retired millwright from USX Steel of Baytown and Birmingham, AL, member of the Eminence Baptist Church, a 32nd degree member of the Cedar Bayou Masonic Lodge #321 AF & AM, and enjoyed his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Mr. Sherman was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 53 years: Shirley Stepleton Sherman of Wallisville, sons: Billy Earl Sherman and wife Lucille of Wallisville, David L. Sherman and wife Kimberley of Hankamer, and Lance D. Sherman of Wallisville, seven grandchildren: Stephanie Sherman Brasher, Heather Sherman Lanferman, David Logan Sherman, Kathryn Sherman, Cort David Sherman, Madison Sherman, and Conrad Sage Sherman, six great-grandchildren, brother: Billy D. Sherman and wife Jan of Baytown, brother-in-law: P. G. Stepleton and wife Judy of Blanco, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

In lieu of usual floral remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Eminence Baptist Church Building Fund at HC 2 Box 127A, Liberty, Texas 77575.

Stidham

Justin Ryan “JuJu” Stidham, 23, of Trinity, died Wednesday, December 5, 2007, in Lovelady.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 8, 2007, at the First Baptist Church of Crosby with burial following at the White Cemetery in Highlands. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., Friday, at the Sterling-White Chapel Funeral Home in Highlands. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

Justin was born February 22, 1984, in Houston, to parents; Billy Stidham and Kimber Anderson, a former resident of Crosby, and has resided in the Trinity area for the past six months. He was a graduate of the Crosby High School class of 2002, a correctional officer for the TDCJ Lovelady Unit, member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #3098, and enjoyed volunteering for TDCJ activities, 4-wheelers, playing games, hunting, fishing, and his dogs.

Mr. Stidham is survived by his wife: Angela Sheppard-Stidham of Trinity, father: Billy Stidham and wife Jackie of Crosby, mother: Kim Oravetz and husband Ed of Friendswood, siblings: Jared Stidham of Crosby, Amy Stidham of Crosby, Ian Oravetz of Friendswood, Trey Stidham of Crosby, and Coleman Oravetz of Friendswood, grandparents: Billy and Pat Stidham of Jacinto City, Sharon Hart of Hill Top Lakes, Madeline and Herman Najera of Jacinto City, and Lynda Tanner of Baytown, aunt: Sheryl Orn of Friendswood, and numerous aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.

Martin

William Carlos “W.C.” Martin, 65, of Dayton, died Wednesday, November 29, 2007, at his residence.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, December 1, 2007, at the Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel with burial following at a later date in Selma, AL. Services are under the direction of Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Dayton.

W.C. was born October 21, 1942 in Lamison, AL, to parents; Carl R. Martin and Irene Dyson, and has resided in the Dayton area for the past 25 years. He was a former millwright, and a retired carpenter, veteran of the US Army, and enjoyed woodworking and collecting knives.

Mr. Martin was preceded in death by his father: Carl R. Martin, mother: Irene Dyson Mosley, and brother: Richard G. Martin. He is survived by his daughter: Michelle Folse and husband Dwayne of Des Allemands, LA, son: Brian Martin, five grandchildren: Dakota, Cierra, and Kanyon Folse, and Austin and Tyler Martin, and numerous other relatives, and friends.

Day

Travis L. Day, age 77, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday, November 29, 2007 at Cleveland Regional Medical Center. He was born in Evadale, Texas on September 25, 1930 to Homer and Alma Day who preceded him in death along with his precious loving wife, Virginia Day who he adored and his son, Travis Dwain Day. Survivors include his daughters, Doris Jones and husband, Burley, Debbie Cunningham and husband, Monte; grandchildren, Natashia Jones, Brooke Day, Brandi Robertson, Crystal Porter, Tracy Day; great-grandchildren, Courtney, Sarah, Shayne, Chance, Dustin, Jayde, Seth, Riley, Cooper, Jacob, Lillian, Grace, William; brothers and sisters, Willie E. “Bud” Day, Homer Day, Jr., Faye Lawrence, Tommy Kelly, and Pearl Smith and many other loving family members and cherished friends.

Miloszewski

Joan Miloszewski, age 43, Splendora, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2007. She fought a long battle with Colon Cancer and died at the home of her brother, Dale. Joan was born September 12, 1964 in Oxford, Ohio to Wanda Adams Wildey of New Caney, Texas and Luther B. Hill of Liberty, Indiana, both preceded her in death. She was married to Daniel W. Miloszewski and they had resided in St. Augustine for many years, her son, Robert (Moppy) Miloszewski comforted her during her battle. She is preceded in death by her son, Daniel W. Miloszewski, and her husband. Arrangements made through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas.

Jones

James Ozell Jones, age 77, of Cleveland/Shepherd area, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2007. He was born August 2, 1930 in Groveton, Texas to George Washington and Mrya Bush Jones who precede him in death along with his wife, Mildred Mauline Jones. Survivors include his daughters, Patricia Ann Simpson and husband, Morris, III; grandchildren, Karen Summers, Angela McGowen, Tricia Simpson, Morris Glenn Simpson, IV, great-grandchildren, Erikka Summers, Trey Summers, Jordan McGowen, Haley McGowen, Dakotah Simpson; with numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and caring friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 29, 2007, 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home, Cleveland, Texas. Trainer

Peggy Sue Trainer, age 45, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007. She was born in Cleveland, Texas on October 10, 1962.

She is preceded in death by her twin daughters, Samantha and Savanah; brothers, Donald Winters and Glenn Winters; and her mother, Tommie Winters.

She leaves behind her father, Bill Winters; sons, B.J. Williamson, Tristan Williamson; sister, Tana Puckett and husband, Ronnie, brother, Sandy Winters; sister-in-law, Donna Winters; niece, Lisa Dennard; nephew, Jaybo Turner; and many other loving family members and caring friends.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland, Texas.

Childress

John Van Childress, Sr. 79, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away November 16, 2007. He was born in Conroe, Texas to John V. Childress and Ida S. Dean on June 20, 1928. He is preceded in death by his son, John Van Childress, III; grandsons, John Van Childress, IV and Jon Wayne Childress.

He is survived by his loving wife, Edna Marie Childress; son, Gary Childress and wife, Gigi, Kenneth Childress and wife, Lisa; daughter, Guin Ainsworth; sister, Idell Madeley; brother, Jesse Childress; grandchildren, Kenneth Childress, Marie Davis, John Robert Childress, Justin Childress, B.J. Ainsworth, Michael Ainsworth, Jeffery Ainsworth, Danielle Ainsworth, Daniel Ainsworth, numerous great-grandchildren and many other cherished family members and caring friends.

Jimmerson

Charles Michael Jimmerson, we all knew as Mike, passed away at his home Saturday, November 17, 2007. He was born to Charles and Robbie Jimmerson in Baytown, Texas.

Mike had his own business, “Jimmerson Logging and Development” and was well know throughout the community and surrounding areas. He was a Cleveland High School graduate of 1972. He was a fun loving person, always joking around and loved to laugh. Mike was devoted to his family and through the years enjoyed many travels with them. He was a giving person from the heart and his family and friends will sincerely miss him.

He was 53 years old at the time of his death leaving behind his loving and faithful friend, his wife, Margie Jimmerson; his parents, Charles and Robbie Jimmerson; sons, Carey Allen Jimmerson and wife, Melissa, Charles Monty Jimmerson and Promise Buchanan; sisters, Robbie Dorlene Ellington and fiancé, Steve Rayborn, Terry Glen Childree, Brenda Gale Tew and husband, Marvin, Shelly Jorene Stendahl and husband, Mike, Kelly anine Cater and husband, Mike; sisters and brothers-in law, Beverly and Sammy Hood, Pam and Cris Normand, Tammy and Brad Williamson; nieces and nephews, Mark Ellington, Kimberly Ellington, John Daniel Childree, Tammy Lynn Wallace, Amanda Tew, Jake Stendahl, Abel Stendahl, Emily Cater, Logan Cater, Tiffany Wingfield and husband, William, Amber Redding and husband, PeeWee, Cristi DeBlanc and husband, Jason, Kelli Tomlinson and husband, Matt; special family, Gene and Glenda Coleman; countless great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and other loving and caring family members and cherished friends. Nixon

Annie Odessa Nixon, 92, of New Waverly, Texas, passed away, Thursday, November 15, 2007. She was born in Pine Valley, Texas on January 13, 1915 to Augusta and Elma Niederhofer.

Survivors include her son, George Ronald Nixon; grandkids, Tambra Pursley and husband, Craig, George R. Nixon, Jr. and wife, Leslie; great-grandkids, Amber Pursley, Craig Pursley, Jr. Joey Pursley, Melissa Pursley, Racheal Nixon, Rebie Nixon, and Realynn Nixon.

Rev. Bob Hunt conducted funeral services Saturday, November 17, 2007, 2:00 p.m. at Pine Valley Baptist Church with interment at Pine Valley Cemetery.

Law

William Harlan Law, 69, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away Tuesday, November 13, 2007. Survivors included his loving wife, Yvonne Law; sons, Bruce Law, Brian Law, Matthew Law, Russell Wilburn and fiancée, Jacalyn; daughter, Lindsay Proctor and husband, Zachary; grandchildren, Angela, Falyn, Hunter, Justin, Emily, and Reagan. Visitation is held Thursday, 11/15/07, 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Coldspring Pace-Stancil Funeral Home. Daniel

Sally Lee Daniel, 65, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Monday, November 12, 2007. She was born in Liberty, Texas on April 8, 1942.

She is survived by her husband, James Thomas Daniel; daughter, Mary Nann McMullen, sister-in-law, Joyce Carl; numerous nieces, nephews.

Williams

James “Doug” Williams, 61, proud veteran of the Vietnam War, passed away Veteran’s Day, Sunday, November 11, 2007.

He is preceded in death by his father, James Williams, mother, Gladys Williams, and sister, Margaret Ann Buchanan. Survivors include his loving wife, Lynda Williams; children, Andy Williams of Magnolia, Dennis Williams and wife, Kellie of Tomball, Caroline Williams, Hayley Williams of Magnolia, James Bible of Cleveland, Michelle Bible of Cleveland, Melissa Bible of Spring; and six grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Yvonne Bowman and husband, Tom of Colorado.
Visitation will be held 5:00 to 9:00 Tuesday, November 13, 2007, Pace-Stancil Funeral Home.

Huffman

Ida Pearl Huffman, age 91, of Porter, Texas, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007. She was born in Latexo, Texas on October 2, 1916 to Robert and Minnie Stapp. She is preceded by both parents; and her loving husband, Dell E. Huffman.

Survivors included her daughters, Patsy Lois Wilkinson, Betty Baker and husband, Frank; grandchildren, Patty and husband, Johnny Thibodeaux, Sharlett and husband, Mike Buckner, Rhonda and husband, Joe Acrey, Terri and husband, Terry Weeks, Sandy and husband, Scott McKinney, Rhonda and husband, Chuck Lange, Greg Williams, James and wife, Zule Hill, Frank Jr. and wife, Kim Baker, Brandy and husband, Sergio Battlistella; nineteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; sister, Jewel Manning; brother, Jesse Stapp; numerous nieces and nephews with many other loving and caring family members and cherished friends.

G B Richards, 84, of Splendora, Texas, passed away Sunday, November 4, 2007. He was born in Bedias, Texas on January 5, 1923.

Survivors include his daughters, Sheila Cunningham and husband, Leonard, Katrina Sapegin and husband, Alex; sons, Ray Richards, Clint Richards and wife, Sandy; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and caring friends.
