RICHARDSON
Hazel Richardson of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday, November
5, 2004 at the age of 94. She was born in Spurger, Texas to Bert
and Ida Haire on May 10, 1910.
She is survived by her sons, Walt “Chico” Richardson
and wife, Letitia of Spring, Texas, Jerry Richardson of Indiana, Pennsylvania;
granddaughters, Cyndi Lawton and husband, Mark of Spring, Texas, Traci Samford
and husband, Curtis of The Woodlands, Texas; great-grandchildren, Callie and
Lindsey Lawton of Spring, Texas, Cody and Ty Samford of The Woodlands, Texas;
and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 8,
2004, 10:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Bob Wood
conducted the service. A special thank you to the pallbearers, Mark Lawton, Curtis
Samford, Cody Samford, Ty Samford, Harry Almany and Charlie Adams that guided
her to her final resting place, Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
WORD
Virgil Johnny Word of Coldspring,
Texas, passed away Monday, November 8, 2004 at the age of 81.
He was born in Carthage, Arkansas on July 17, 1923. He is preceded
in death by his father, Virgil Otto Word; mother, Leah Thompson;
step-father, Tommy Thompson; brother, Corbet Word and James Word;
sister, Edith Puckett and his loving wife, Frances Marie Word.
He is survived by his son, John Frank Word of Houston,
Texas; daughter, Rachel Harrell and husband, Charles W. of Coldspring, Texas;
grandchildren, Charles N. Harrell of Coldspring, Texas, Sheila Heard and husband,
Darren Heard of Magnolia, Texas, Jennifer L. Matthews of Houston, Texas; great-grandchildren,
Darren G. Heard Jr. of Magnolia, Texas, Charline M. Harrell of Coldspring, Texas
and a host of loving and caring nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held Wednesday, November
10, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Coldspring Pace-Stancil Funeral Home Chapel, Coldspring,
Texas.
WALTERS
Elizabeth Jeanette Walters of
Memphis, Tennessee passed away November 12, 2004 at the age of
63. She was born in Franklin County, Texas to Elmer and Effie
Williams on October 8, 1941.
She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years,
Robert Walters; daughters, Vickie Stone,, Beverly Noble, Lori Lampkins, Kim Jensen,
Robin Hernandez; sons, Roger Williams, Mike Stone, Tim Stone, Jeff Stone, Jimmy
Walters, Spencer Walters; sisters, Bonnie Chonte and Faye Scott; brothers, Raybon
Williams, J. D. Williams. She is leaving behind her sixteen grandchildren and
one great-grandchild. She has other loving and caring family members and countless
friends beyond measure.
Funeral services were held Thursday, November 18,
2004, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Carl Williamson
officiated with interment at Menard Chapel Cemetery, Segno, Texas.
SMITH
Alton Marshall Smith of Cleveland,
Texas, passed away Saturday, November 13, 2004 at the age of
75. He was born in Dolen, Texas on May 24, 1929.
He was a long-time business man in Cleveland and
owned and operated Smith Food Market, Cleveland Locker Plant and Smith Tractor
Company. He was active in the Cleveland Dairy Day events for years and a devoted
member of Calvary Baptist Church.
He is survived by his mother, Corrine Smith; sons,
Brad Smith and wife Jeanne, Johnny Smith and wife Wanda Gail, and Doug Smith;
grandchildren, Brent, Leslie, Kimberly and Brody.
Services were held Wednesday November 17, 2004,
10:00 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Carl Williamson
officiated, with interment at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens, Cleveland,
Texas.
DILLARD
Toni Renee’ Dillard of Splendora,
Texas, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the age of 45.
She was born in Houston, Texas to Loyd and Lillian Lockhart on
September 2, 1959.
She is survived by her husband, Larry Dillard;
parents, Loyd and Lillian Lockhart; daughters, Casey Renee’ Lilley and
husband Marshall and Nicole LaNell Dillard; son, Glen Dillard; sister, Sherry
Bowles and husband Butch; grandchildren, DaKota Renee’ Lilley and Austin
Wayne Lilley; mother-in-law, Wilma Hobbs; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a
host of other friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November
17, 2004, 1:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Rev. Layne
McAdams conducted the service, with interment at Rosewood Cemetery, Humble, Texas
at 2:30 p.m.
SMITH
Alice Faye Whitmire Smith of Cleveland,
Texas, passed away Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the age of 39.
She was born in Cleveland, Texas to Eugene and Barbara Whitmire
on January 28, 1965.
She is survived by her husband, David John Smith;
parents, Eugene and Barbara Whitmire; sons, David Alan Smith, Jeffrey Wade Smith
and Steve Anthony Smith; sister, Janet Whitmire Leone; brothers, Michael Steve
Whitmire, Kenneth Eugene Whitmire, Sr. and Gary Lloyd Whitmire, Sr.; nephews,
Kenneth Whitmire, Jr., Brandon Whitmire, Jason Wisdom, Joshua Woods, Nathan Wilcher,
Andrew Thomas, Gary Whitmire, Jr. and Ross Tullos; nieces, Katie Beth Woods,
Chelsea Leigh and Brittney Thomas..
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November
17, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Bro. Melvin
Holifield conducted the service, with interment at Morgan Cemetery, Splendora,
Texas.
ELLIS
Mavis Blanche Ellis of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Thursday,
November 18, 2004 at the age of 94.
She is survived by her best friends, Mable Ann Guynes and Helen
Turner along with many other friends. She is preceded in death
by her son, Donnie Joe Whitmire.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 19, 2004, 2:00 p.m.,
Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment at
Cleveland Memorial Cemetery.
DUNN
Juanita Dunn, 81,
of Splendora, Texas passed away Sunday, November 21, 2004. She
was born August 22, 1923 in Panola County, Texas to Weaver Wycliff
and Cordie Mae Gates both of whom preceded her in death. She
was a retired Secretary, a devoted Baptist and loved her church
family. She lived in Splendora, Texas for over 24 years and was
a member of the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post 1839.
She is survived by her loving husband, Clifford
M. Dunn, Jr.; daughters, Pam Patterson; Teri Crisp and husband, James; brothers,
Osvill Gates and wife, Jean; grandchild, Chelsea Elaine Bailey; numerous nieces
and nephews and other loving family members and countless friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, November
24, 2004, 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Splendora, Texas. Rev. Jeff Weens
and Rev. Kerry Baxley also officiated the graveside service at 1:00 p.m. Resthaven
Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Houston, Texas.

Jason Dewitt Terry of Trinity,
Texas passed away Thursday, November 18, 2004 at the age 35.
He was born in Huntsville, Texas on August 10, 1969.
He is leaving behind his loving wife, Patrice Terry;
mother, Carolyn Shipp; father, James Sandel; daughter, Anna Gural; son, Peter
Gural; brothers, James Sandel and wife, Francis of Huntsville, TX, Jack Terry
and wife, Kathy of Shepherd, TX, Josh Terry and Patsy of Huntsville; niece, Ryland
and Harley and one nephew, Zack and a host of loving and caring friends.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November
21, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Paul Horton United Methodist Church, Stephens Creek, Texas
with interment at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Stephens Creek, Texas.
GILMORE
Marvin Arnold Gilmore, age 78,
of Pasadena, Texas passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2004. He
was born August 16, 1926 in Sour Lake, Texas to Elgin and Monie
Gilmore.
He is survived by his loving wife, Lena Gilmore;
daughter, Connie Adams and husband, Rick of Cleveland, TX; sons, Stanley Gilmore
and wife, Linda of Cleveland, TX, Raymond Wilson, Jr. and wife, Joyce of Pasadena,
TX; sisters, Mildred Molnari of Marietta, GA, Lois Kirtley of Kingwood, TX; eleven
grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews
and a countless friends. He is preceded in death by his second wife, Patricia
Gilmore; daughter, Marlene Gilmore; son, Donald Wilson and wife, Judy; grandson,
Cody Adams; sister, Frances Hales and his brother, Lester Gilmore.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 26,
2004, 11:00 a.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, Cleveland, Texas with interment
at Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.

Willie Mae DeSpain of Cleveland, Texas, passed away Friday,
November 26, 2004 at the age of 69 born on February 14, 1935
in Holt, Alabama.
She is survived by her husband, Eddie DeSpain; children, Paul Ray Thomas, Janet
Thomas, Gilbert Thomas and wife, Renee, Debbie DeSpain and Mike, Teri Clifton
and husband, Bobby; grandchildren, Cory, Ty, Brett, Scott, Aaron, Lane, Zachary,
Conner, Annastasia and Michael; sisters, Berry Joe Cone, Sis Mitchell; brother,
Bill Wright and wife, Fern; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, L.W. DeSpain

28, 2004 at the age of 75 born October 28, 1929 in Spurger, Texas.
She was born to Beulah and Ramsey of whom have preceded her in
death along with her grandson, Troy Parrish.

Gladys May Carr of Cleveland, Texas for 45 years, passed away
Monday, November 29, 2004 at the age of 94, born in West Virginia
on May 29, 1910.
She is survived by her daughters, Hazel E. Well Pitts of Caney Creek, Texas,
Martha Wells Stephens of Conroe, Texas; sons, William Wells and wife, June
of Caney Creek, Texas, Lloyd Wells and wife, Lola of Plum Grove, Texas, Roy
K. Wells of Gause, Texas; brothers, Virgil Hall of Sylvia, North Carolina;
twenty grandchildren; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; eighteen great-great-grandchildren
and numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family members and
friends beyond measure.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 1, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Caney
Creek Apostolic Tabernacle Church, New Caney, Texas. Bro. Ronnie Frankens and
Rev. Dennis Cark officiated with interment at Freeman Cemetery, Grangerland,
Texas.
ORTON
Inez Carrie Orton, age 85, of Coldspring, Texas, passed away
Monday, November 29, 2004. She was born in Houston, Texas to
Frank Alonzo and Minnie U’ella Burrows on December 3, 1918.
She had many opportunities to travel and in her travels made
numerous friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Jimmie Madaline Cruse Logan of Katy, Texas,
Gloria Orton Copley and husband, Raymond J. of Dennison, Texas, Tina Orton
Wagner and husband, Lloyd L. of Baytown, Texas; sister Juanita Goodrum Carpenter
of Marshall, Texas; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren
and countless friends beyond measure. She is preceded in death by her husband,
Lester L. Orton and her son, William Pat Cruse, Jr.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 2004, 2:00 p.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst
Chapel, Cleveland, Texas. Raymond Dale Walker officiated with interment at
Pace-Stancil Memorial Rest Gardens.
WALKER
Robert Earl Walker, age 86, of Cleveland, Texas, passed away
Monday, November 29, 2004. He was born in Esperanza, Texas to
Monroe and Annie Walker on May 12, 1918. He was married to his
loving wife 61 years. He was a long-time member of Rural Shade
Baptist Church; he retired from Gulf Coast Industry at Exxon.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Walker of Cleveland, Texas; daughters,
Mary Anne Hudgins and husband, Roy of Cleveland, Texas, Robin Elaine Owens
and husband, Glen of Buffalo, Texas, Betty Charlene Chapman and husband, T.K.
of Cleveland, Texas; son, Kenneth Earl Walker and wife, Lilly of Buffalo, Texas;
sister,
Falma Walding of Conroe, Texas; thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren
And numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and countless
friends.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 2, 2004 at Rural Shade Baptist
Church, Tarkington, Texas. Rev. Byron Reeves and Rev. Byron Allen conducted
the service with interment at County Line Cemetery, Willis, Texas. A special
thank you to the Pallbearers, L.G. Walker, R.J. Walker, Randy Walker, G.W. “Buddy” Walker,
Troy Bailey, Milton Partain and Honorary Pallbearer, Lee Walding.
